Overflow crowd for "Angst" screening and "Pockets of Hope" update

    February 22, 2015

The overwhelmingly enthusiastic response by the crowd which filled the Sydney Jewish Museum theaterette to overflowing yesterday was testament to the filmmaking ability and sensitivity to issues relating to Holocaust survivors and their descendants, of Sydney filmmaker Judy Menczel. Although "Angst" is not a new film, it continues to speak to the heart and inspire reflection on the experiences of those whose parents lived through the darkest days of human history.

Judy took the occasion to provide an update on her latest project, “Pockets of Hope", which also addresses the issues of the second generation - but this time also looks at the second generation of Poles. This will be a moving film with the inspiring message that there are many good people whose response to tragedy is reconciliation. “A documentary of hope beyond hate, music beyond tears...”.
